SIBLING DISCOUNT FOR SEPARATE CLASSES
If you are registering two or more siblings for different, separate classes, enter coupon code sdc10 for every additional class. For example, Sibling #1 registers for "Chess" and Sibling #2 registers for "Yoga." The registration for Sibling #2 would require the discount code sdc10 to be entered.

If the siblings are registering for the same class, no coupon code is required.

REGISTRATION POLICY
Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first served basis. All classes are subject to minimum and maximum enrollment and early registration is strongly encouraged. 

LEAF Approach to Enrichments reserves the right to refuse, accept, or terminate any application, at its sole discretion, at any time either prior to or during the class schedule.

ILLNESS POLICY
Students must be fever free without the use of medication for 24 hours, as well as have not had any diarrhea or vomiting for 24 hours prior to returning to school or joining in a LEAF class.

If a student is absent from school due to illness, that student may not attend a LEAF class. Similarly, if a student leaves school early due to illness, he or she may not return to school to attend a LEAF class that day.

CSI STEM Class

Let your child become a CSI detective and try to solve mysteries such as Who stole the cookies from the cookie jar? Our young detectives will develop their problem solving skills as they collect and review clues for the case. They will explore forensic science using microscopes and magnifying glasses, build DNA structures, and learn  about the parts of blood and fingerprints. Let the investigation begin!

Legomania

Legos will be all around as our “Legomaniacs” build new models each session. Different themes are introduced through stories, songs, or games, and children may create models of dogs, boats, cars, seesaws, catapults, or cranes, depending on the focus of the week. Basic engineering concepts will be taught, including the workings of simple machines such as gears, wheels, or pulleys, all while reinforcing skills such as counting, ordering, and patterning. Themes may include animals, vehicles, amusement parks, and machines, so join us in our Legomania adventures.

Jurassic Land

Let’s travel back millions of years ago to the days when dinosaurs roamed the earth and learn all about dinosaurs! We will learn about the different types of dinosaurs (their differences and similarities), their eating habits, and their habitats. We will explore earth science to understand how earth has changed from the dinosaur days to today through shifting of lands or earthquakes and begin to understand why dinosaurs are now extinct. We will become paleontologists as we use our tools to dig up and identify the fossils and bones that were left behind. Finally, we will build own dinosaur out of everyday items.

Science Explorers

Each week, children will explore a different science theme through stories, songs, and games. They will engage in fun experiments and create projects related to Earth Science, Physics, or Chemistry. Children will follow the scientific method as they make predictions, conduct experiments, observe results, and form conclusions. Some experiments may include making your own slime, lava lamp, bath salt, or sugar scrub. Our Science Explorers will learn the difference between wet and dry ice, study different weather conditions, and create their very own clouds, rain, or snow.

Mad Science Workshop Fun!

Each week, children will participate in a different workshop exploring various scientific discoveries through unique themes.  During week of Butterflies, students will learn and explore how a caterpillar turns into a butterfly. The week of Colors, children will meet a new friend named ROY G. BIV and will learn about the properties of light and the colors of the rainbow. The Energy & Motion workshop will allow students to explore the concept of energy and how it gets things moving, they will get to take home toys called “Boinks” that will help them remember how energy and motion are used. The Let’s Measure workshop will allow children to learn the basics of measurement and will use balance beam scales, bathroom scales and even their own two feet! Magnetic Attraction will introduce students to the force of magnetism and will allow them to learn about magnetic polarity, magnetizing metal objects and more! The Water Works class will introduce your preschooler to water where they will conduct experiments on absorption, density and surface tension. Weather will be discussed and a pet tornado will follow your child home from class that day! Let the Mad Science Workshop Fun begin!

Cooking Around the World for Little Chefs

Your Little Chef will travel around the world preparing foods from countries such as China, Mexico, India, Morocco, Lebanon, Italy, and Switzerland. Children will embark upon a fun, cooking adventure that plants the seeds of healthy eating early on, all while expanding their taste buds as they create nutritious and delicious recipes from a variety of cultures. This hands-on class will have children integrate all five senses as they smell, touch, taste, look, and listen during their culinary adventures. Classes emphasize a variety of skills and focus on topics including: kitchen safety, following directions, measuring, nutrition, and more. All of our cooking will be cold cooking. We do not use any nuts, but dairy products will be used in some recipes, which can be supplemented, if needed.

Kidz Kraftz

These Krafty Kids will tap into their creative sides and make a variety of fun rainbow-themed projects to bring home and share with family and friends. Some of their creative juices will be poured into making items such as a pencil cup or bowl, a photo holder, slime, a dream catcher, a bubble painting with their favorite things on it, and a cupcake candle. Each craft will follow our rainbow theme, bringing color and joy into this spring season! Let your children express their creativity with their colorful Kidz Kraftz!

Little Chefs Prepare Recipes for Spring

We are ready to spring into action in the kitchen with our Little Chefs who will learn to prepare some perfect recipes for the spring season! Get ready for a fun, hands-on cooking experience that plants the seeds of healthy eating early on! We will expand your child’s taste buds by creating healthy and yummy recipes that will entice all five senses as your children experience various spring smells, textures, tastes, and sounds during the springtime culinary adventure. Sample recipes are Mediterranean Turkey Pinwheels, Vegetable Spring Rolls, Rainbow Chicken Salad, Watermelon Salad and Vegan Cookie Dough Dip with fruit. Please note, recipes with chicken and turkey can be substituted with tofu or avoided. All other recipes are meat-free. Also note, dairy is used in some of our recipes.

Vet's Academy

If your child loves animals, then this class is perfect enrichment for them! In this course, children will learn how veterinarians take care of household pets, as well as farm and zoo animals. Each week, students will focus on a different type of animal or veterinarian medicine technique at a developmentally appropriate level for the specific age group. Then, participants will complete a corresponding hands-on STEM activity. Note: there will be no live animals in the classroom. This program is a wonderful way to introduce your child to the veterinary world!
